Using Persuasive Devices – A Turtle for a Pet

PDF, Google Slides | 1 page|Grades: 3 - 6

A worksheet for students to practice using persuasive devices in their writing.

Authors use different persuasive techniques in their writing for many reasons. It might be to sell a product or a service to someone or to convince the reader to feel the same way they do about a particular issue or idea.

Use this worksheet to reinforce the following persuasive devices with your students:

  • personal pronouns
  • opinion
  • emotive language
  • rhetorical questions.

As an extension activity, have your students write a persuasive letter to their teacher using the sentences from this worksheet.

Due to the nature of the activity, an answer key has not been provided.

Use the drop-down menu to choose between the PDF or interactive Google slide version.
