How Much Water Do We Really Use? Water Timeline Activity

Water is one of the most important resources on our planet, and it is essential to our daily lives in so many ways. From drinking and cooking to cleaning and agriculture, people use water repeatedly each day. As teachers, it’s our job to teach students about the importance of water and how we rely on it for survival. When you spend time exploring the different uses of water, you can help your students understand the significance of this vital resource and inspire them to become responsible consumers of water themselves.

What Do We Use Water For? A Daily Timeline of Water Use

This activity encourages students to think critically and chart how they use water throughout a single day. By participating in this activity, your students will discover that they use much more water than they initially thought, and hopefully, they will see the need for conservation. This activity works well as a homework assignment or can be completed as a whole class during the school day.
