Have Fun With “Would You Rather…?” Back to School Edition

Are you looking for a fun back-to-school activity that will get your students moving? This whole-class Would You Rather Back to School Game encourages students to express their preferences and likes in a fun way. To extend this activity further, consider counting how many students like each activity. 

To play, project the slides in front of the class. Students will be presented with two choices. After deciding which option they prefer, students will either put their hands on their heads or in the air.

Students will answer 16 different “Would You Rather” questions in this “Would You Rather” Back to School Game as they get to know their classmates and teacher.

Using This Would You Rather School Edition Slideshow

Using this activity couldn’t be easier! Simply project the Would You Rather School Edition Slideshow on your board or screen, and walk your class through each fun question. Students will be presented with two choices—for example, “Would you rather read a book or watch a movie?”—and they must respond by moving to one side of the room, raising their hands, or showing their answer in another way.

Here are a few easy ways to play:

• Hands up for one choice, hands down for the other.
• Move to different sides of the room based on their answer (great for getting the wiggles out!).
• Turn and talk with a partner to explain why they chose what they did

Each slide prompts funny discussions and laughter while helping students learn about one another’s likes and dislikes. The activity includes 16 Back to School-related “Would You Rather” questions.
