Practice penmanship by tracing and writing uppercase and lowercase letters.

This alphabet handwriting practice worksheet is best used for individual, one-on-one practice, homework, or tutoring.

This handwriting worksheet can be used in your:

Students will practice letter recognition and penmanship by first tracing individual letters and then writing each freehand. There are 2 worksheets included for students to focus on either upper or lowercase letters. 

Alphabet Handwriting Practice Worksheet Scaffolding & Extension Tips 

After completing the worksheet, fast finishers can cut out the individual letters to practice spelling CVC and CVCe words.

Slip the worksheet into a clear sleeve for the student to practice writing with a dry erase marker. Additionally, for students who struggle to write the letter in the correct direction, use a yellow highlighter to write the letters in the blank boxes for students to trace.

Easily Prepare This Resource for Your Students

This download includes a worksheet for practicing uppercase letters penmanship and one for lowercase letters. We suggest printing front and back to save paper.  

To turn this teaching resource into a sustainable activity, print a few copies on cardstock and slip them into dry-erase sleeves. Students can record their answers with a dry-erase marker, then erase and reuse. 

You can also project the worksheet onto a screen and work through it as a class by having students record their answers in their handwriting notebooks
