There is no doubt about it… a day in the life of a teacher can feel like you’re training for a marathon. And, with the Olympics gracing our screens, we thought we’d have a little fun with some Olympic memories and link them to all of the emotions we experience as teachers.

Finishing a Long Day at School…

Let’s start off the list with ‘that’ feeling you get at the end of a very busy, long day – when you have just finished the longest after-school meeting you’ve had all year.

Report Cards are Finished!

How about all of those uncontrollable emotions you feel during report card writing season – but then the absolute ecstasy you feel when you finish writing all of your report cards.

So Much to Do!

We’ve all had those days where we feel like we have so much on our to-do list that we just end up walking (or spinning) around in circles.

When You See your Teaching Bestie

You know that instant feeling you get when you walk into the school grounds and you see your teaching bestie across the school grounds?

Just One of Those Days

We all have those days where we have planned the best lessons and we’re feeling good – but nothing really goes to plan…

Sharing Your Wins

You know that feeling when you finally help that student reach a big goal, or when they finally understand the concept of division. Then you run to your colleague next door to share your win… it’s a team effort!

All of the Questions

When you go to your desk for 2 minutes of quiet time while your students complete some independent work… suddenly you like up to see the massive lineup of kids at your desk.

You’re the Best Teacher

When one of your students hands you a handwritten letter that would have taken them ages to write and it says … ‘You’re the best teacher!’
