Simple Punctuation Digital Game

This soccer-themed punctuation digital game is the perfect addition to your early years classroom when learning about capital letters for the start of sentences and end punctuation marks like full stops, question marks and exclamation marks.

In this game, students participate in a fun soccer challenge where correct punctuation helps them score goals!

  • Each question presents a sentence missing punctuation or capitalisation.
  • Students choose the correct option
  • Correct answers = a goal scored!
  • Incorrect answers = try again and improve

This engaging format encourages repetition and reinforces learning through play.

How to use this Punctuation Game in the Classroom

There are many different ways you can use this resource in the classroom; here are some suggested ways from a teacher:

  • This could be used as a whole class activity, where the teacher displays the game on an interactive whiteboard and then works through the questions together as a class.
  • Small group rotations, where the teachers include the game as part of the literacy rotations. Students can take turns answering questions and scoring goals – as it has the self-monitoring correct or incorrect responses built into the slide deck.
  • Quick assessment tool – use student responses to gauge understanding in real time.
