What’s Inside the Oral Presentation Task Card Set?

This resource includes a wide variety of interactive speaking prompts across four key skill areas:

• Opening Hooks  – Students practise starting a presentation with engaging lines such as “Guess what I learned today…”, “Imagine this…”, and “Here is a fun fact for you…”
• Volume Practice – Learners explore different speaking volumes — whisper, team talk, speaker voice, and outside voice — through playful scenarios like “Pretend to talk over the wind” and “Talk so the whole class hears.”
• Gesture It Out – Students act out simple sentences using gestures, such as “The rocket blasts into space” and “The tree sways in the wind.”
• Topic Word Hunt  – Children list words that belong to a topic (e.g., SCHOOL, ZOO) to build vocabulary and oral fluency.
• Pace Practice – Students retell familiar nursery rhymes too fast, too slow, and just right, helping them understand pacing and clarity.

Each card is simple, visual and easy for students to complete independently or in small groups.
