Problem-Solution Peg Cards

Do you have trouble getting your students to identify the problem and solution in a story? We’ve been working hard to create the perfect resource to help you change your passive listeners into active readers! This resource is the perfect opportunity to encourage your students to think about what is happening in the story and not just read words without question.

This interactive activity has students looking at images of problems as they happen. They must then click and drag an icon to identify the solution to the problem shown in the image.

For example, if you spill a glass of water, is the solution…

  • … a coat?
  • … a mop?
  • … some lunch?

This resource contains 14 examples of problems. For each problem, three possible solutions are shown.
