Roll An Adventure Story – A Creative Writing Game for Book Week

Make narrative and imaginative writing a bit more fun with this engaging Roll An Adventure Story activity that helps students brainstorm the story elements they need to write their own thrilling tales of adventure!

With a simple roll of the dice, kids can mix and match story elements like settings, heroes, villains, and problems to spark creative adventure stories. This resource is designed for primary school students and is perfect for writing centres, early finishers, or as an end-of-unit writing assessment!

Roll and Write Adventure Story Game

Your students will love using this adventure story game to create one-of-a-kind tales of adventure. Each roll of the die leads to a new story element (setting, hero, villain, problem) using a fun and picture grid.

The download includes three differentiated versions of the grid: picture-only, picture-and-word, and word-only, making it easy to support writers at any level. We have also included three writing paper variations for students to write their final story drafts.
