Unknown Side Perimeter Word Problems

How is perimeter used in our everyday lives? When we install fencing, hang wallpaper or put up Christmas lights, perimeter is a maths concept that is used all the time! If your students have learned the basics of perimeter, then this worksheet will make a great supplement to use in your maths class.

The perimeter of the coffee shop is 60 metres. The length is 18 metres. What is the width of the coffee shop?

Mr. Long is raking leaves. He is using a tarp with a perimeter of 48 metres. It is 14 metres long. What is the width?
