Every author has their own voice and unique way of telling a story that makes their writing special.

Analyze the Style of an Author with Your Students

This slide deck provides a solid foundation for teaching your students how to analyze the style of an author. Once students have explored the slides, you can extend their learning with simple but effective activities, such as:

• Text Comparison – Provide students with two short passages by different authors and have them identify similarities and differences in their stylistic choices.
• Style Imitation – Ask students to rewrite a short passage in the style of a well-known author, encouraging them to replicate their stylistic elements as closely as possible.
• Group Discussion – Facilitate conversations where students share their favorite authors and describe what makes their style unique.
