Hundreds Chart Mystery Picture - Subtraction Task Cards
A set of 32 activity task cards to use when learning to subtract single and double-digit numbers.
This teaching resource requires students to complete a set of subtraction problems and color number squares on a hundreds chart to reveal a mystery picture. This activity is great to use as a fast finisher activity or as a math center activity.
The download includes a hundreds chart numbered 1-100 and another chart without numbers, allowing you to differentiate the level of challenge as needed. The 32 task cards contain instructions that are simple to follow and the solutions are also provided in the download.
You may like to:
- print the task cards on cardstock to use again and again.
- print the hundreds chart into a 32-page booklet for students to keep track of the task cards they have already completed.

Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies. By end of Grade 2, know from memory all sums of two one-digit numbers.

Fluently add and subtract within 100 using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.

Fluently add and subtract within 1000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.
