A Meaningful and Engaging Resource for Teaching Size Prefixes

As our students move into the upper grades of elementary school, our expectations for their vocabulary use increase significantly. Learning to apply prefixes to familiar words can unlock a range of new vocabulary for our students, enhancing reading comprehension, spelling, writing and oral language development.

This worksheet pack focuses specifically on prefixes that indicate size, degree or intensity. It includes 11 tasks that progress from single-word tasks to sentence-level practice and text-level applications, allowing students to gradually build and consolidate their understanding. With a variety of formats included, the worksheets help maintain engagement while providing meaningful practice opportunities for learners at different ability levels.
