Using Persuasive Devices – Living in a Treehouse
A worksheet for students to practice using persuasive devices in their writing.
Authors use different persuasive techniques in their writing for many reasons. It might be to sell a product or a service to someone or to convince the reader to feel the same way they do about a particular issue or idea.
Use this worksheet to reinforce the following persuasive devices with your students:
- alliteration
- opinion
- emotive language
- rhetorical questions.
As an extension activity, have your students write a persuasive letter to their parents using the sentences from this worksheet.
Due to the nature of the activity, an answer key has not been provided.
Use the drop-down menu to choose between the PDF or the Interactive Google slide version.
