This set of five engaging, printable craft activities will help your students reinforce their number recognition skills for numbers 1 – 10 while practising their fine motor skills.

This craft activity pack includes the following templates:
- Biscuit jar and biscuits
- Ladybug and spots
- Outer space and planets
- Pond and frogs
- Fishbowl and fish
Why is Number Recognition Important?
Number recognition is an essential maths skill for Foundation students. It is fundamental for later maths learning such as patterns, counting and critical thinking. Learning to recognise numbers also promotes a general understanding of the world around students.
While completing this fun craft activity, students will hone their fine motor skills while practising many number recognition skills, including:
- Writing numbers
- Connecting quantities and numbers
- Representing numbers with objects
- Recognising a quantity of objects in an organized arrangement (ten frame)
- Counting
- One-to-one correspondence
