These versatile compare and contrast reading activities can be integrated into your lessons in multiple ways. Here are some suggestions to get you thinking:

• Whole-Class Lessons – Project a task card and work through the passage together as a class.
• Literacy Rotations – Place task cards at a reading station for independent, group or partner work. 
• Intervention and Small-Group Support – Provide targeted practice for students who need additional support with comprehension strategies.
• Fast Finishers – Offer task cards as meaningful extension activities that reinforce key literacy skills.
• Homework – Send home selected cards and worksheets for extra reinforcement of the compare and contrast strategy.
