Division Task Cards That Connect Multiple Representations

Helping students recognize division in different forms is an important part of developing mathematical reasoning. These division task cards encourage students to move beyond simple calculations by exploring how division can be represented through equations, arrays, bar models, and real-world word problems.

Students sort the cards into matching sets, identifying which visual models and problem situations represent the same division expression. They then explain what each number represents and write the related multiplication fact to reinforce the connection between inverse operations.

This activity promotes mathematical discussion, strengthens conceptual understanding, and helps students make meaningful connections between different representations of division. An answer key is included for quick and easy grading.
