46 writer’s notebook journal writing prompt cards.
Journal writing can be a powerful strategy for students to gain writing fluency. It removes the fear of writing, and allows students to write in a very informal way.
Instead of simply telling students to write about whatever they would like (which usually results in the dreaded sentence, “I don’t know what to write about.”), simply project a prompt card on the screen and set a timer. They are a great way to keep students focused on a particular theme or topic.
