Mix & Melt Mayhem – A Physical And Chemical Changes Science Game for 1st Grade

Bring science to life with a digital twist! This physical and chemical changes game for first graders turns learning into play as students explore the difference between changes that can be reversed and those that cannot. With colorful visuals, self-checking interactions, and simple questions, this interactive game makes it fun and easy for young learners to understand what types of changes are reversible and which are not.

Is It An Irreversible Or Reversible Change? Matter Game

Mix and Melt Mayhem is an Irreversible or Reversible Change? Matter Game. In this game,  students are given real-world scenarios like melting ice, baking cookies, or tearing paper. They’ll decide whether each example is a reversible change (can be undone) or an irreversible change (permanent).

Each slide gives students immediate feedback, reinforcing understanding and boosting confidence as they learn to tell the difference between physical changes that affect appearance and chemical changes that create something new.

This resource is perfect for use as a whole-group smartboard activity, or as an independent learning activity for science centers.
