Have Fun with This Multiplying Decimals Worksheet!

Are you looking for a fun worksheet to help your students master multiplying decimals? If so, look no further! These riddle worksheets were designed as a fun way to practice multiplying with the standard algorithm. Your students will be laughing when answering jokes such as:

What starts with a T, ends with a T, and has a T in it?

What is yours, but mostly used by other people?

You may have some jokesters in your classroom who may want to create their own riddles!

This resource has three riddle worksheets, each marked with 1, 2 or 3 stars at the top. Students will solve 12 problems where they multiply a decimal by a decimal or a decimal by a whole number. Each problem has an associated letter that corresponds to the answer. Once students have completed the 12 problems, they must use the key at the bottom to put the letters into the correct place to find the answer to the riddle.

This multiplying decimals worksheet downloads as either a printable PDF or an editable Google Slides version. An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

Differentiation Ideas for These Multiplying Decimals Worksheets

While this resource already contains differentiated versions, you may be looking for more ways to individualize this activity to better suit your students’ ability levels. Here are some more suggestions from our experienced teacher team:

  • Challenge students by using the editable version to modify problems to include up to the thousandths place value. Additionally, students can use the editable version to create their own riddle worksheets for their classmates to solve.
  • Support students by providing a multiplication chart for those who need assistance with basic facts. This activity can also be completed in a small group or 1-on-1 setting.

Students can record their answers with a whiteboard marker, then erase and reuse them. Alternatively, project the worksheet onto a screen and work through it as a class by having students record their answers in their notebooks.
