Reading Preferences Survey
A survey for students to complete to gain a greater understanding of the types of texts they like to read.
Use this teaching resource in the classroom to motivate students with their reading. One of the best ways to ensure students are engaged with their free-choice reading is to ensure they select texts they are going to love.
The survey provides an opportunity for students to self-reflect and uses this information to direct the choices they make. This information is also useful for the teacher in profiling students’ interests.
There are two pages to the resource. One explores topic preferences and the other examines preferred types of non-digital texts.
When visiting the school library, the surveys could be taken to assist with book selection.
Use the drop-down menu to choose between a PDF or google form version of the survey.
