Each card features a combination of letters, shapes, numbers, and pictures, allowing you to quickly create groups of 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 with the same deck. No more counting off, no more “Can I be with my friend?”, and no more time lost moving between activities!
How To Use These Random Group Generator Cards
Using these cards is simple! To put them into use in the classroom:
- Hand out one card to each student, distributing them in alphabetical order, beginning with the card labelled A.
- Tell students to find their group by locating classmates with the matching symbol on their card.
- The symbol they match determines the group size you’re forming:
- Groups of 2 — Sort by Letter
- Groups of 3 — Sort by Shape
- Groups of 4 — Sort by Number
- Groups of 5 — Sort by Fruit
- Groups of 6 — Sort by Animal
If you have an odd number of students, simply have the extra student join an existing group.
