Customary or Metric? Which Unit of Measurement Do I Use?

When students first start measuring things, it’s always important to talk about the units of measurement and help students understand which units to use for different objects. This resource is designed to help your students understand how objects of various sizes should be measured using different units. This differentiated  measurement worksheet pack includes a variety of worksheets, including

  • Choose the Metric Unit – MM, CM, and M
  • Choose the Customary Unit – Inches, Feet, Yards
  • Choose the Customary Unit – Inches vs. Feet
  • Choose the Metric Unit – Centimeters vs. Meters
  • Choose the Metric Unit – Meters vs. Kilometers
  • Choose the Customary Unit – Feet, Yards, and Miles

On each worksheet, students will cut out the items on the dotted lines. They will then look at the image, decide which unit is more appropriate for measuring the object, and glue it in the correct column.

We have also included answer keys for easy grading!
