Word-Building Made Easy: Prefix, Suffix and Base Word Activity
We all know the importance of building strong literacy skills in students. One of the fundamental building blocks of literacy is the ability to decode multisyllable words by recognizing and understanding prefixes, suffixes and base words. That’s why we’re excited to introduce you to this word-building card game!
Literacy Center + Vocabulary Game = Educational Fun!
This card game uses brick word cards to help students construct complex multisyllable words containing prefixes, suffixes and base words. By playing our game, students will improve their ability to recognize and decode complex words, making reading and writing easier and more accurate.
The game includes 108 plastic brick word cards, each with a prefix, suffix or base word. Players take turns drawing a card of each color and using it to build a word tower that creates a word using all three parts. The first player to correctly make 18 words wins the game!
