As a class, complete the activity on slide 14. Check the answers on slide 15.
Complete the 1 to 10 Car Park Number Match activity as a class. After the cars with the numerals have been matched to their names in the carpark, use rolled-up balls of plasticine or blu-tack to attach the quantity for each number. You might like to pretend that each ball of plasticine/blu-tack is a piece of luggage in the car. As a class, count the quantities as they are attached to the cars.
Display and discuss slide 16. Place the students into pairs. Provide each pair with a pre-cut and laminated copy of the 0-10 Number Matching Game. Ask the students to complete the activity by grouping each number by its name, numeral, dice representation and quantity.
Monitor and support the students as they complete the task. Once the students have finished, complete the activity together on the board. Encourage each pair to check that their cards match-up correctly.
As a class, play a game of Number Trains from the ABC Splash website.
