3-Digit Number Expander - Bat

PDF | 1 page|Grade: 2

A foldable bat-themed number expander for students to record 3-digit place value.

Use this teaching resource in the mathematics classroom when exploring 3-digit place value.

Print a class set for your students to record a 3-digit number:

  • as a digit
  • in expanded form
  • using Base-10 blocks
  • as hundreds, tens, and ones.

After recording their expanded numbers, ask the students to decorate their bats and cut them out. Instruct the students to then fold in the wings to make a 3-digit number expander.

Use the students’ bats to create a place value display in the classroom.
