Fun Addition and Subtraction Mazes

There are six mazes included in this resource. Choose to give all your students the same maze to work on at the same time or provide a mix of all six. They are a perfect activity for a math group rotation any time of year! The combination of basic operations and logical thinking will keep your students engaged while you focus on guided math.

Answer keys for each maze are included in the resource. Colored lines are used to indicate the path of each shape. It is recommended that these pages be printed in color or viewed digitally.

Extending Beyond the Math Maze

There are multiple ways to extend student learning with each maze. Here are some suggestions:

  • Have students write a multi-step word problem for each path the shapes take to successfully complete the maze.
  • Challenge students to find the path for each shape that results in the maximum and minimum possible numbers.

A-maze-ing! (Not associated with the incredibly nostalgic kids’ game show of the ’90s.)
