How to Prepare and Play This Money Addition and Subtraction Word Problems Board Game 

This money addition and subtraction word problems board game is easy to prepare and play. Here’s how!

Prepare: 

1. Download and print the resource in the format of your choice. We recommend printing the game board and cards on cardstock and laminating for longevity.
2. Cut apart the question cards and shuffle them, placing the stack on the “Draw Pile” section on the game board.
3. Give each student a game piece, a modeling recording sheet, and an answer recording sheet. 
4. Provide each group with a number cube and an answer key.

Play: 

• Place game tokens at “Start.” Player 1 rolls the number cube and moves forward the same number of spaces.
• The player follows the directions on the space.
• If the player lands on a picture, they will choose a card and answer the question. A correct answer allows them to stay on the space, while an incorrect answer will send them back to their previous space. 
• Players take turns. The player who gets to the “Finish” space first, wins!
