Cave of the Tides: A Factors and Multiples Game 

Get ready for an exciting math adventure with Cave of the Tides, a themed digital escape room designed to reinforce key concepts around factors and multiples. Perfect for upper elementary or middle school students, this factors and multiples game immerses learners in a crystal-filled cave where they must solve math puzzles to escape before the tide rises. Students work through engaging challenges in their workbooks, promoting critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving—all while staying aligned with math standards. Ideal for review, enrichment, or a fun change of pace!

Skills covered in this factors and multiples game:

  • Finding the greatest common factor (GCF)
  • Determining if a number is a factor or multiple of another number
  • Listing all factors of a given number
  • Solving word problems involving factors and multiples

Using This Factors and Multiples Activity in the Classroom

It doesn’t take much to get your students learning with this factors and multiples activity! Here is how to use it. 

  1. Download the escape room and the student workbook in the formats of your choice.
  2. Print and provide each student a copy of the student workbook to assemble in the correct order.
  3. Ensure students have access to the escape room, whether providing each group with a device to view the slideshow or displaying it to the entire class. 
  4. Put the escape room in “Slideshow” mode. 
  5. Instruct students to read each slide and follow the instructions there and in their workbooks. All work should be completed in their workbooks. 
  6. If students complete this factors and multiples game with the right codes, a congratulatory message will appear!
