Mood PowerPoint

Google Slides, PowerPoint | 25 pages|Grades: 5 - 7

An editable PowerPoint presentation to use when teaching mood.

The mood of a piece of text is the general atmosphere or emotion the author’s words evoke in the reader. Often this is confused with the tone of a piece of text.

Use this presentation to teach your students about mood.

The teaching presentation describes what mood is and teaches students how to use the setting and author’s word choice to determine the mood of a piece of text. In addition, the PowerPoint offers built-in turn-and-talk activities, making it easy to see which students need extra support and video clips that are sure to keep your students engaged throughout the entire presentation. It also includes a link to a worksheet, allowing your students to put their learning into action!

Use the drop-down menu to choose between the Google slides or PowerPoint version.
