Narrative Elements in a Fairy Tale Sorting Activity

If you are exploring narrative elements in a Fairy Tale – this castle-themed Fairy Tale sorting activity is exactly what you need for your small group activities. In this narrative elements sorting activity, students need to sort different elements from famous Fairy Tales into the following categories:

  • Problem
  • Solution

The following Fairy Tale stories are used:

  1. Little Red Riding Hood Sort (text only)
  2. Little Red Riding Hood Sort (text and images)
  3. The Three Little Pigs (text only)
  4. The Three Little Pigs (text and images)
  5. The Little Red Hen
  6. Jack and the Beanstalk
  7. Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Differentiated Narrative Elements Activity

This narrative elements activity includes 7 different sorts, Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs includes two different templates – one with text only, and one that also includes images. This is a great way for you to differentiate this small group activity and provide extra support to those students who may struggle with the reading aspect of this sorting activity.
