Chill Out With Rhyming Word Games and Activities

Are you looking to bring a broader range of ‘cool’ activities into your literacy lesson plans?

We’ve got you covered with this fun snowman-themed, rhyming, match-up activity!

How to Play our Rhyming Word Game

Memory is an easy game to pick up, but can be hard to put down!

The instructions are simple…

  1. Sort the cards into stacks of snowman heads and snowman bodies. Turn all the cards face down.
  2. Flip over two cards (one snowman head and one snowman body) and see if the words thyme. If they rhyme, keep them! If not, turn them back over.
  3. Continue playing until all the cards are matched. The player with the most matches at the end of the game wins!

A recording sheet is provided so students can write down their matches.
