  • Incorporate Valentine’s Day themes into lesson plans: Use Valentine’s Day as an opportunity to teach about relationships, emotions, and communication. You can also incorporate math, science, and language arts skills into Valentine’s Day-themed lessons.
  • Create a SWEET classroom environment: Decorate the classroom with Valentine’s Day-themed decorations or create a new Valentine’s Day Bulletin Board.
  • Create class Valentine’s Day cards for helpers in your building. Show your custodians, cafeteria staff, and everyone a bit of love on the holiday.
  • Plan activities such as Valentine’s Day games, crafts, and writing prompts to keep students learning through the holiday.

This BINGO game is designed for students in grades 2-3, and features 24 gameboards and accompanying calling cards. Through this activity, students will practice adding and subtracting two-digit numbers, with and without regrouping.

How to Use Our Valentine’s Day Game

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your holiday math lessons.

  1. Provide each student with a game board and counters as board markers. They will also need scrap paper or a markerboard to work their problems on.
  2. Pull a problem card from the stack and read it aloud (or write it on the board).
  3. Students will solve the problem and attempt to locate the number on their game board.
  4. The first student to get four in a row, three in a column, or all four corners wins!

If you would like to make this game a bit more challenging for your students, consider using the editable version and bumping the numbers into the hundreds and thousands places.
