An interactive bulletin board display showcasing multiple representations of the numbers 1-10.
Use this teaching resource to build a colorful and highly visual classroom number display for introducing the numbers 1–10 to younger students.
As you introduce each number, choose the related components to compile your bulletin board display. Use all of the representations of the number, or pick and choose those you wish to introduce to your students.
The resource includes the following representations of the numbers 1–10, with corresponding labels:
- number form
- word form
- tally marks
- ten frame
- Base-10 blocks
- number line
- subitizing dots.
A colorful title banner is also included. Be sure to download both available files from the drop-down menu. When printing the banner, be sure and choose ‘poster’ as your paper size. It will print across 5 letter size pages that can easily be put together to create the banner for your board!
Common Core Curriculum alignment
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
Understand that each successive number name refers to a quantity that is one larger.
Count to answer "how many?" questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
