Practice rounding to the nearest ten and hundred on a vertical number line with this set of 36 match-up cards.

## Practice Rounding to the Nearest Ten and Hundred!

Are you looking for a rounding activity that strengthens your students’ understanding of rounding and number lines? This matching activity will encourage students to find matching whole numbers and vertical number lines on a number line. Each match includes:

• Instructions to round a number to a given place, along with a vertical number line, to determine the match.
• A matching whole-number card for each number line.

To use, students will place all cards face up in front of them. Beginning with the Number line cards, students will round the numbers provided using the vertical number lines and match them with their corresponding whole number cards.

Each number line is part of a set of two cards, with 18 pairs for students to work with. In total, there are 36 cards in the download.

Through this activity, students will show they can match a whole number with a vertical number line representation and round numbers to the nearest ten and hundred.

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your math lessons.

In addition to individual student work time, use this rounding game to enhance learning through guided math groups or as a math station activity.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

### 🆘 Support Struggling Students

Help students who need support understanding the concepts by limiting the number of playing cards.  Additionally, provide access to previous assignments, posters, and anchor charts for students to recall past lessons.

### ➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

For fast finishers, encourage students to make additional cards to add to the game using index cards.
