Where: Arid areas of Central Australia.
How many: Estimated at less than 1000 (As of 2010)
Why: Feral cats are a major threat to bilbies. Many bilbies have been killed by traps and poison set for rabbits. In the 18th century, bilbies were hunted for their fur.
